With breathtaking views, a smooth flight, and expert pilots, the Everest Heli Tour is one of the most thrilling and unforgettable ways to explore Nepal’s mountainous beauty.

Detailed Itinerary

Your unforgettable Everest heli adventure begins with an early morning pickup from your hotel in Kathmandu. You will be driven in a private vehicle to the domestic terminal of Tribhuvan International Airport. On arrival, your guide will assist with check-in formalities and prepare you for the flight ahead.
Before boarding, you will receive a short but thorough safety and route briefing from the ground crew and your pilot. This includes information on flight duration, landing points, safety protocols, and what to expect when flying and landing at high altitude in the Everest region.
After boarding the helicopter, you lift off from Kathmandu and head east toward Lukla. The flight offers sweeping views of lush hills, terraced fields, rivers, and traditional villages. After about 45 minutes, you land at Lukla (2,860m) for a short refueling stop, with time to soak in the cool mountain air and observe the bustling gateway to the Everest region.
From Lukla, the helicopter follows the dramatic Khumbu Valley, flying above Namche Bazaar, Tengboche Monastery, and other iconic landmarks. As you approach the upper valley, the helicopter heads toward Kala Patthar (5,545m), a legendary viewpoint for Mount Everest and surrounding giants. Weather permitting, you land briefly at Kala Patthar to step onto the high Himalayan terrain, admire the 360° panorama, and capture unforgettable photos with Everest towering in front of you.
After the Kala Patthar experience, you fly to the Everest View Hotel in Syangboche. Here you can enjoy an optional breakfast (not included in the package price) on the terrace while surrounded by world-famous peaks such as Everest, Ama Dablam, and Thamserku. The stop typically lasts around 50–60 minutes, giving you time to relax and enjoy the scenery.
Following breakfast, you board the helicopter for your return flight to Kathmandu, enjoying final aerial views of the Himalayas as you descend toward the capital. On landing at Tribhuvan International Airport, a private vehicle will be waiting to transfer you back to your hotel, concluding your high-altitude Everest heli experience.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. The tour is operated by experienced pilots who are specially trained for high-altitude flights in the Everest region. Flights operate only in suitable weather conditions, and onboard oxygen is available for emergencies. Landings at high altitude, such as Kala Patthar, are kept brief to reduce the risk of altitude-related issues.
No trekking or climbing experience is required. The Everest Heli Tour is designed for travelers who want to see Everest and the surrounding peaks without hiking for several days. You will make only short, guided stops at high altitude for views and photos.
Wear warm layered clothing, a down or windproof jacket, gloves, a warm hat, sunglasses, and sturdy shoes. Temperatures at Kala Patthar and Syangboche can be very cold, even when Kathmandu is mild. Also bring sunscreen, a camera or phone, personal medications, and a small daypack. Keep luggage to a minimum due to strict weight limits.
Breakfast at the Everest View Hotel is not included in the tour price. It is optional and can be purchased directly at the hotel, with an approximate cost of USD 30–40 per person. You can choose from available set menus while enjoying panoramic mountain views.
All standard permits, government fees, and service charges related to the helicopter operation are included. However, Sagarmatha National Park entry, local government tax, and airport tax—approximately NPR 7,000 per person—are excluded and must be paid separately on site.
Yes, helicopter flights in the Everest region are highly weather-dependent. If the weather is not suitable for safe flying, the tour may be delayed or rescheduled. In the event of a full cancellation due to weather, your booking will be handled according to the company’s refund or rescheduling policy, which will be explained at the time of reservation.
Yes. Helicopter operations in the Everest region strictly follow weight limitations for safety. Typically, a maximum of five passengers can be accommodated per flight, but the final configuration depends on total combined weight and prevailing conditions. You may be asked to provide your body weight in advance to help plan the seating and load distribution.
